Streaming star IShowSpeed was turned away by security at CBS’ London studios as he wanted to confront Jamie Carragher over comments on the Champions League show.
With Cristiano Ronaldo being his hero, IShowSpeed has plenty of crossover with the football – well, soccer – world. He’s played in games, chatted with current players and legends, and even turned up at award shows.
After playing in the Match for Hope in Qatar, Speed was invited onto CBS Sports’ Champions League show by Thierry Henry. A possible appearance from the streamer was later discussed by the panel – which includes Micah Richard and Jamie Carragher – before the latter questioned who Speed is and what he does.
“If he comes on the show, what’s he going to do, just run?” the former Liverpool defender said. Speed told Carragher to stop “talking smack” and that he’d appear on the show soon.
Speed turned away by CBS security
Well, seeing as he is in London for the 2025 Sidemen Charity Match, Speed tried to drop by the CBS studios, but was turned away by security.
A clip of him appearing at reception surfaced online, with the streamer being heard asking for Carragher. “Is this CBS? I’m here to talk to Jamie,” he said. “He told me to pull up.”
An employee approached Speed and questioned him further, with the streamer replying: “I’ve been talking to him this whole time.” He was ultimately turned away and had to leave the reception area.
Some viewers theorized that he may have been late for the show and turned away because of that, but also suggested it may have been scripted for a later appearance.
“Staged video but okay,” one said. “If it’s not scripted, CBS just f*cked up lmao and there’s no way his team doesn’t contact CBS first,” another chimed in.
Speed could still appear on the March 5 episode, seeing as there is another round of Champions League matches. We’ll have to wait and see.
