IShowSpeed was not happy with former footballer Jamie Carragher “talking smack” about him on CBS Sport’ Champions League coverage.
On February 18, IShowSpeed reacted to a clip from an episode of the CBS Sports Golazo show featuring hosts Kate Scott, Thierry Henry, Jamie Carragher, and Micah Richards.
It followed Arsenal legend Henry playing alongside Speed in the Match for Hope charity game, and extending an invitation for the streamer to appear on CBS Sports Golazo.
However, during a discussion on the show, Carragher made a lighthearted remark suggesting that Speed’s name simply meant he can run fast: “If he comes on the show, what’s he going to do, just run?”
The comment didn’t sit well with the 20-year-old, who expressed his frustration during his livestream and called out Carragher. “Bro, what?! They think I’m stupid, bro. Nah, nah. Nah, chat. Who is he talking smack?” the internet sensation exclaimed. “Put me on CBS right now!”
Henry defended the streamer, praising his speed with the ball. Meanwhile, Richards invited him to come on the show and meet Carragher: “Speed, come join us. Please come on, I can’t wait for you to meet Jamie Carragher.” Speed responded: “Yeah, Jamie Carragher. I’m going to remember that name.”
Later on, CBS Sports Golazo shared a clip from his YouTube livestream, in which he called out Carragher and said he wanted to appear on the show.
When Carragher saw the clip of Speed saying he would remember his name, he seemed excited about the idea of the streamer joining the show. He even suggested a race if the content creator made an appearance: “Is he coming on the show now? Is he coming on? I’ll have a race.”
Henry warned Carragher that the popular streamer was in fact really fast. Carragher then asked, “Is he Thierry Henry fast?”
IShowSpeed has competed in races before, including a $100K race against US Olympic Noah Lyles on MrBeast’s channel, and he also beat an Aussie Rules football player in a $10K foot race.
