IT seems no industry is safe from AI, with a model claiming people constantly accuse her of being a bot.
And she believes the technology – and the extremely disproportionate models it often creates – is “contributing to unreachable standards of beauty”.
Ines Trocchia has nearly 2 million followers on Instagram and has spent years posing in front of the camera, mastering her craft.
Unfortunately, with the rise in artificial intelligence models – who look just as flawless as the 29-year-old – more and more people are now accusing her of not being a real person.
Not only is it “frustrating” but Ines claims she’s also losing money to fraudsters stealing her body to make artificial content.
And, in some instances, these bots are more popular with fans than Ines herself.
“It’s extremely frustrating that people think I’m an AI model,” said the Italian model.
“I don’t think my profile looks like that of a bot – I’ve got highlight reels that show me on a catwalk and things like that.
“You can always tell when an AI model has been used because they have the same sad expression in every single photo and video.
“So it’s shocking to me that some people question if I’m real.
“It’s even more frustrating because I’ve noticed bot accounts are even stealing my body and putting artificial faces on it.
“I spoke with some of my colleagues and friends in the industry and they have the same problem.
“One of my videos was outright stolen by a bot account and got more views on there than it did on my own profile.”
The model, who is a proud natural beauty, also stresses that AI is a problem for those outside her industry, too, as the tech can contribute to unrealistic beauty standards.
“The AI models are contributing to unreachable standards of beauty.
“As an example, I’m not against surgery but some of the AI accounts that I have seen are completely impossible standards.
“The models tend to be super baby-faced with breasts and features that aren’t in proportion to their bodies.
“It’s so bad for the modelling industry and the whole world.
“Can you see these people in the street? Can you have a family with these people?
“No, it’s complete insanity to me.
“It’s crazy to me that we are striving for this unbelievable level of perfection.
“I won’t deny that AI has a place – I have used it before to remove unwanted objects from the back of my photographs.
“But it’s completely different when you’re using it to create a person who doesn’t exist.”
