One woman claims to have earnt thousands from her side hustle though, despite her barely working on it for the last two years.

The Aussie influencer has revealed that her life has dramatically changed after she began her side hustle in 2009, with her having no idea how her business would take off.

Despite earning more than most people’s annual salary, the mum claims to have not worked on her side hustle for over two years. (Yes, you read that right.)

While it sounds too good to be true, the influencer revealed how this was possible in a now viral-video on TikTok.

Better known as @hayleys.digital.hub on the app, she explained that she’d begun by selling website templates on Esty and other marketplaces.

She told her followers: “Social media marketing and digital marketing, like we know it these days, just wasn’t around then back then. Everyone was posting pictures of their food on Instagram.

“We weren’t using it for bussiness.”

Having found a gap in the market, the influencer’s business immediately took off.

Since she first started selling her website templates, the Aussie has earned a over AUS $806,000 (£424k) from her side hustle.

The ‘life-changing’ sum has allowed Hayley to become a stay-at-home-mum and enjoy more time with her young family.

Even better, she claims that she has barely worked on her side hustle over the last few years.

“I haven’t touched this account in over two years,” she revealed, adding: “I’m still getting almost daily sales from it.

“I haven’t made a new product in over two years and so far it has brought in $514 (£270) this year alone.”

Just like any side hustle, the mum has been forced to adapt and learn new skills to continue growing her thriving business.

This includes diversifying what products she offers and experimenting with what works.

Ironically, the content creator admitted that she was a ‘dinosaur’ when it came to using social media platforms.

“I hadn’t done social media marketing up until a year and a half ago,” she confessed, saying: “Like everyone else, I had to jump on a course to learn how to do it and how to do it the right way.”

Though it hasn’t been easy, the mum-of-two has been rewarded for her hard work.

Having worked on digital marketing and products for over a decade, the Aussie mum encourages others to do the same.

She added: “Starting from scratch can be a slow process and it can be frustrating but I just want you to know that you are putting in time to build something bigger that is going to last a very long time.”
