I get trolled for my plus size ‘Grandma legs’ and told I look like I have ‘saggy balls’ but I’ll still wear a bikini

Ariella Nyssa is a plus-sized influencer and body positivity author

MOST of us have bits of our body we don’t like, with many of us choosing to cover them up.

One woman, however, has defied critics by continuing to wear bikinis – despite trolls pointing out her cellulite.

Like many women, Ariella Nyssa had dappled skin at the top of her legs.

Rather than it stopping her from enjoying summer, the Aussie influencer will regularly slip in to her favourite swimwear as she advocates for body positivity.

Her posts have become an inspiration to others, with Ariella becoming a bestselling author and gaining over 1.7 million fans on Tiktok.

Despite her huge popularity, it hasn’t stopped the plus-size model from being targeted by cruel trolls on social media.

It’s gotten so bad that the content creator has taken to Instagram, defying critiques with a recent bikini photoshoot.

As she strolled down to the beach, the influencer looked beautiful as she posed for the camera with her long wet hair cascading down her back.

Proudly showing off her cellulite, she wore a stunning sunflower print bikini which highlighted her dappled legs and bum.

Hitting back at beauty standards, she then wrote: “Cellulite does NOT many you any less beautiful. Trust me I’ve heard it all. ‘Grandma legs’, ‘saggy balls’, ‘wrinkly and ugly’. I used to let these words get to me.

“I used to try and hide my legs, hide these marks. I’ve heard so many people around me on a mission to get rid of their cellulite.”

The model then questioned why people were so desperate to hid their ‘imperfect skin’, adding: “I mean it’s marks on our bodies that indicate growth and life. That I have lived in my body, that I have grown with it. Isn’t that beautiful? Isn’t that AMAZING.”

I’m plus size & was bodyshamed at a supermarket for my ‘inappropriate outfit’ but I had the perfect comeback

Urging others to live life in spite of their insecurities, she wrote: “Don’t be hard on yourself Angel, just LIVE in the body you have been given. Because it’s so friggen beautiful.”

Her empowering post has been liked 20,000 times with fans, who were in awe of her heartfelt post.

Touchingly, it comes in the wake of the influencer’s ‘toughest body love year’ – during which she struggled with fertility.

Having been inspired by her most recent post, one fan wrote: “So frigging beautiful! Personally I love cellulite and find it so cute! It’s just connective tissue patterns! Totally normal and beautiful.”

“You are a beautiful butterfly shining your light on something so important! Thank you for your courage and inspiration in being the change we seek,” added another.

A third agreed with the model and questioned why women felt so anxious about their cellulite and even admitted that she’d struggled with this issue herself.

They wrote: “I’ve seen overweight people with no cellulite, and skinny people with lots of cellulite. Even after going to the gym and eating better I lost fat and gained muscle, but my cellulite never went away.

“It’s so funny seeing people equating cellulite to being unhealthy when there are plenty of female athletes who have it and many overweight women who don’t.”

For those who are nervous about enjoying the beach this summer, we hope Ariella’s post has inspired you to wear your bikini.
