Hulu Adds Unlimited DVR Feature for Live TV Subscribers

Hulu Adds Unlimited DVR Feature for Live TV Subscribers

Just a few months after hiking prices for its live TV bundle, Hulu has announced that it is adding unlimited cloud DVR storage at no additional cost.

Deadline reports the streaming giant will offer the feature to all Hulu with Live TV subscriptions beginning April 13th.

Hulu + Live TV plans previously included 50 hours of DVR space with unskippable adds, while allowing subscribers to upgrade to 200 hours of storage through add-ons that ranged in price from $10 per month to $15 per month.

With the new Enhanced Cloud DVR add-on, the DVR feature will expand to 200 hours without the ads at no additional cost. Recordings stored on the DVR will last only nine months.

“Hulu + Live TV is becoming even more valuable and attractive to consumers,” Hulu president Joe Earley said in a statement. “Through one single subscription, users get access to 80+ live channels – including all the major broadcast networks – as well as Hulu, Disney+, ESPN+, and soon Unlimited DVR. We will be one of the only pay TV providers – traditional or streaming – to offer this feature as part of the base plan at no additional cost.”

The news arrives just three months after Hulu bumped its Live TV package from $65 per month to $70 per month, equal to the price of YouTube TV, but bundled in Disney Plus and ESPN Plus at no additional cost.
