HBO has released the first teaser trailer for The Penguin, the upcoming Colin Farrell-starring sequel series to Matt Reeves’ hit 2022 film The Batman.

The Academy Award-nominated Farrell stars as Gotham City gangster Oswald Cobblepot, a.k.a. The Penguin.

The series is set in the aftermath of The Batman, which saw parts of Gotham City flooded due to an attack from The Riddler.

Alongside Farrell, The Penguin also stars Cristin Milioti, Clancy Brown, Michael Zegen, Michael Kelly, Rhenzy Feliz, Theo Rossi, and more.

Earlier this year, it was reported that — to the massive disappointment of fans — The Batman: Part II had been delayed from October 2025 to October 2026.

Released in March 2022, The Batman starred Robert Pattinson in the lead role of Bruce Wayne/Batman. Additional stars included Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as Riddler, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon, Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, John Turturro as Carmine Falcone, Barry Keoghan as Joker, and Farrell as The Penguin.

In addition to The Penguin, Farrell will soon be seen starring in the AppleTV+ series Sugar, which will premiere on Friday, April 5.

At this time, The Penguin does not have an official release date. It is confirmed, however, that it will debut in the fall of 2024.
