On Dec. 20, 2024, shortly after a cryptocurrency disaster that left her in potential legal trouble, Haliey Welch, better known as the Hawk Tuah girl, posted on Instagram for what would be the final time in four months. One week ago, Welch returned with an ominous post mocking the stories that had circulated about her during her absence. Now, cleared of all potential SEC charges, Welch is back in action.
Jason P. Frank of Vulture reports that Welch’s Talk Tuah podcast is set for revival starting next week. However, the return comes with a significant change. Welch’s podcast with no longer be a part of Jake Paul’s sports betting company Betr, which previously produced the show.
“Launching Talk Tuah last year with Cheslea [sic] was one of the most exciting things I’ve ever done,” Welch said in a statement. “I’m grateful and humbled by all the guests who supported me. To the listeners who tuned in every week, y’all literally change my life.”
Haliey Welch Makes ‘Talk Tuah’ Return After SEC Investigation Comes Up Dry
Welch, 22, was recently cleared of all wrongdoing after an SEC investigation into her connection to a crypto pump and dump scheme.
“The SEC closed the investigation without making any findings against, or seeking any monetary sanctions from, Haliey,” her attorney said in a statement released to TMZ. “Because they did not bring any action against her, there are no restrictions on what she can do in regards to crypto or securities in the future.”
Welch herself expressed remorse for her initial involvement with cryptocurrency.
“I take this situation extremely seriously and want to address my fans, the investors who have been affected, and the broader community,” she wrote in a since-deleted tweet. “I am fully cooperating with and am committed to assisting the legal team representing the individuals impacted, as well as to help uncover the truth, hold the responsible parties accountable, and resolve this matter. If you have experienced losses related to this, please contact Burwick Law using the link below…”
Welch has not yet announced any guests for take two of her show. But something tells us she’ll be a little safer about what she says or who she brings on this time around.
