HAIM Perform “Down to be wrong” on Fallon: Watch

HAIM appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Tuesday night, where they performed “Down to be wrong.” Watch the replay below.

The HAIM sisters delivered a faithful, rocking rendition of the recently-released track. Alana Haim began on the bongos and quickly donned an acoustic guitar to strum alongside her sisters. Esme and Danielle played their interlocking parts with style and syncopation, and Danielle launched into a ripping guitar solo during the song’s conclusion. It’s standard HAIM fare: satisfying harmonies, an effortlessly tight band, and enjoyable melodies.

“Down to be wrong” appears on I quit, the band’s fourth album, which drops Friday, June 20th via Columbia/Polydor. The album also includes previous singles “Relationships,” “Everybody’s trying to figure me out,” and “Take me back.”

HAIM also joined Fallon for an interview to discuss their new record. Esme shared that she drew inspiration from the 1996 Tom Hanks film That Thing You Do!, particularly its memorable “I quit” moment near the end. The band also talked about the album’s cover art, their post-show routines, and their percussion skills. They wrapped up the segment with an impromptu jam of “Relationships,” joined—naturally—by Questlove and The Roots. Watch the full interview below.

The sisterly rock trio are heading out on tour this fall. After a few shows this summer, the “I Quit” tour will officially kick off in September, and take the band across North America and the United Kingdom through Halloween (get tickets here).
