Green Day’s existential acoustic classic has reached another massive certification milestone.
Green Day’s album ‘Nimrod’ recently celebrated its 25th birthday. On that album is a track that in the years that have passed since release has become one of the band’s biggest and most emotional moments.
That’s ‘Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life)’.
And it seems fitting that at the same time the song has hit another milestone in the US.
According to RIAA, the song is now certified 5x Platinum. That’s five million sales in total.
Pretty amazing, right?
It’s the band’s highest certified track by far, and ‘Nimrod’ is also certified 2x Platinum in its own right.
The song has been streamed just over 469,781,000 times on Spotify.
The classic video also has 84 million views on YouTube, and that looks like this:
The band are going to be releasing a new reissue of ‘Nimrod’, featuring 14 previously unreleased tracks.
