Gerard Piqué is doing everything in his power to hide his sheer embarrassment.
He can’t seem to handle the heat Shakira has brought before him in her “BZRP Music Sessions #53” diss track!
The retired FC Barcelona defender recently sat down for an interview with the Spanish radio station, “El món a Racl.”
He was questioned about his ex-partner’s smash hit song, “BZRP Music Sessions #53,” his two children and retirement from fútbol.
Gerard Piqué Questioned About Shakira’s ‘BZRP’ Music Collab
When asked about his thoughts on Shakira’s banger, Piqué sheepishly avoided giving any sort of solid answer.
In the interview, which was transcribed by El Pais, Piqué told Jordi Basté, “Obviously, I’ve heard the song. But I don’t want to talk about it because it’s neither here nor there.”
If you’re a fan of Shakira or have been following their nasty breakup, then you know it is chock full of shade aimed at Piqué, his new GF and even his mother.
Some lyrics from the song read, “Sorry baby I should have thrown you out a while ago. A she-wolf like me is not for rookies. A she-wolf like me is not for guys like you. For guys like you. I’m too good for you and that’s why you’re with someone just like you.”
Piqué Avoids Talking About Shakira… “Neither Here Nor There”
They continue, “I’m not getting back with you, don’t cry for me, nor beg me. I understood that it’s not my fault that they criticize you. I only make music, sorry that it bothers you.”
Clearly, the song DOES bother Piqué, because he refuses to talk about it.
Later in the interview, the soccer stud spoke about Shakira and himself in regard to parenting throughout their breakup.
“People have a responsibility, especially those with children, to protect our kids. I don’t want to say anything more about it, because everyone makes good and bad decisions, and I don’t want to talk about the topic anymore. I think in the end what matters most is for my kids to be okay,” he said.
In a recent interview with Enrique Acevedo for “Canal de las Estrellas,” Shakira explained her focus is solely on her two children and becoming a “lioness” for them.
Shakira Has Come Out Stronger, Better & Hotter
“That strength comes out of experiencing a painful loss, of accepting it, of tolerating a frustration, of understanding that life doesn’t always bring us what we want,” she explained. “There are dreams that are broken, and you have to pick up the little pieces from the ground and put yourself together again and also be an example to my children.”
Shakira and Piqué settled their bitter custody battle late last year, and she will be moving her two boys to Miami, FL. with her by April 1st.
The Colombian-native hasn’t minced her words when it comes to her cheating ex and his young new girlfriend, Clara Chia Marti.
Shakira admitted to Acevedo that she has learned A LOT since breaking up with her partner of nearly 12 years.
Since the split, she’s realized she can be entirely “self-sufficient” after buying “into the story that a woman needed a man to be complete. I’ve always been emotionally quite dependent on men I’ve fallen in love with, and I think I’ve been able to understand that story from another perspective, and today I am sufficient on my own.”
Shakira continued, “There is a place in hell reserved for women who don’t support other women.”
You may recall that the “Hips Don’t Lie” singer found out Piqué was cheating (allegedly with Marti) on her from an opened jar of jam.
