General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Evan Hofer (Dex Heller) has been facing some big character changes lately. Dex’s breakup with Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) was obviously a huge deal, but it was Dex’s split from Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) that made Hofer truly emotional!
In an interview with SOD, Evan Hofer admitted he was crushed when he first learned that Dex was getting the boot from Sonny’s organization.
It was a tough blow that actually brought Hofer to tears since he loves working with Maurice Benard so much.
“When I read the script that I was not going to work for Sonny anymore, I actually cried in public just because I knew I wasn’t going to get to act with Mo as often.
He’s been such a huge part of my life since I’ve been here,” Hofer confessed.
After gushing over what a great mentor and pal Benard has become, Hofer pointed out that goes for their time on set and outside the studio as well.
Although Benard and Hofer are still close behind the scenes, Hofer acknowledged that he was going to miss working so closely in GH storylines with him.
However, there’s a silver lining since Evan Hofer offered a glowing review of Finola Hughes (Anna Devane) and is really enjoying working with her now.
As for Dex’s goal of being a cop, could that open the door to him making amends with Josslyn?
Time will tell, but Hofer was adamant that Dex isn’t going into this PCPD job thinking he can win Josslyn back.
That said, Hofer does feel like Dex would like to prove he’s the decent person that Josslyn once believed he was.
It’s possible Dex will earn some points with Josslyn and reunite with her down the road, but it seems like Dex will be pretty busy focusing on his new career path for a while.
How will Sonny react once he gets updates on Dex joining the PCPD?
Will Anna truly be able to protect Dex – especially considering what we know about Valentin Cassadine’s (James Patrick Stuart) plan to send undermedicated Sonny over the edge?
