General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that another actor’s departure has been confirmed. According to SOD, Joshua Benard has wrapped his run as Adam Wright following the conclusion of Adam’s story arc.
Adam faced some mental health struggles due to the pressure of his medical major and overbearing parents, so all that led to a scary overdose.
Thankfully, Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) stepped up to help Adam and played a huge role in giving him the strength to stand up to his father.
Adam decided to stay at PCU and pursue music, so he’ll still be around off-screen. It’s possible Adam will return at some point if a new story opportunity arises, but his final airdate was February 1 for now.
Most GH fans probably know that Joshua Benard has a famous real-life father with a significant connection to the show.
Of course, we’re talking about Maurice Benard, who plays the very popular Sonny Corinthos.
Joshua actually played a younger version of Sonny back in 2018 in some flashback sequences, but he went on to play Adam Wright starting in 2021.
Adam wasn’t a great guy when he first appeared since he hit on Josslyn following the release of her scandalous tape with Cameron Webber (William Lipton).
However, Adam ultimately realized the error of his ways and apologized to Josslyn, so they became good friends and later formed a stronger bond.
More recently, Adam became a more fleshed out character with plenty of problems, so Joshua Benard was given a chance to grow as an actor and show more range with his work.
It was nice to see Adam shake things up with some new drama, but he deserves to find some peace and happiness now that he’s living life on his own terms.
Adam’s latest arc began in September 2023, but now he’s finished his stint and will be off-screen as he concentrates on a bright new chapter.
