General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that more changes could be happening at the ABC soap. Fans have been blowing up social media over the possibility of a big exit – namely Michael Easton’s potential departure as Hamilton Finn – so let’s talk about how this snowballed online.
Suspicions originally started swirling after Finn opened up to Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) about his friend in Doctors Without Borders and how he missed having a sense of purpose like that.
It left viewers with questions about Michael Easton’s status and led to speculation that Doctors Without Borders might eventually be part of Finn’s exit strategy.
It’s easy to imagine Finn using a mission like that to fill the void left in his heart after Gregory Chase (Gregory Harrison) passes away.
Of course, a Doctors Without Borders exit would be tricky considering Finn has Violet Finn (Jophielle Love) and parental responsibilities to think about, so that’s important to keep in mind.
If Finn does depart, he could just as easily end up leaving town with Violet on some sort of travel adventure together.
Perhaps Finn could finish Gregory’s bucket list with Violet if his dad doesn’t check everything off in time.
Regardless, Michael Easton recently joined Instagram after all these years, which led to more speculation that he might be out as Finn.
Something similar happened with Roger Howarth (ex-Austin Gatlin-Holt) shortly before his own GH exit.
Howarth joined Instagram and began sharing reflective posts – just as Easton’s been doing – before Austin was given a major sendoff from the show.
It’s worth mentioning that Howarth shared a throwback post last week that featured Easton, so he did a shoutout to him and shared a plea to fans.
“Hope everyone continues enjoying what he has to say. He’s worth your time, for sure,” Howarth said.
That bolstered the Easton exit speculation even more since it almost seemed like Howarth was commiserating with a fellow fired soap star.
Easton reposted that throwback and let Howarth know he was a good man in the comments.
Easton also made a post talking about Finn’s early scenes with Roxy and offered gratitude for the fictional family that he has now.
It was another case of Easton seeming like he was reflecting on warm memories – perhaps in preparation for his departure.
It doesn’t look like Easton is done filming yet since he later posted a behind-the-scenes pic that suggested Finn was dressed up for Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) and Brook Lynn Quartermaine’s (Amanda Setton) wedding.
Even so, there are certainly some exit warning signs to mull over.
There’s no confirmation that Easton is out at GH, but some social media accounts claiming to have inside info insist it’s true and have added to the frenzy.
