At the Sony Pictures Television Advertiser Sales upfront in New York City, Game Show Network offered updates on some new shows they’ve got in the works – including one featuring Cameron Mathison that debuts in June.
Mathison will serve as the host of GSN’s Beat the Bridge, which is based on BBC’s Bridge of Lies.
The concept involves a huge interactive bridge that contestants step across after answering trivia questions correctly.
With every right answer and step forward, the team earns money – and there’s a bonus once a contestant makes it all the way to the other side.
Of course, there’s also a catch since the team only gets to keep the cash if they beat the bridge – meaning they have to be able to send one of their players back across it before time is up.
It sounds like a fun show that Cameron Mathison will be a great fit for. Mathison has great energy and plenty of charm, so he’ll be perfect as Beat the Bridge’s host once it hits the air.
However, this no doubt leaves many fans wondering about Mathison’s status with GH. Will Drew be written out so that Mathison can devote more time to his new game show hosting job?
Cameron Mathison juggles multiple projects outside of the ABC soap, so it’s a reasonable question to ask! That’s especially true now that Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) is back and taking center stage for the most part.
There are definitely some shakeups happening behind the scenes, so it’s easy to imagine Drew exiting under the circumstances.
