General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that George Russo is set to take over the part of Carmine Cerullo, so Brook Lynn Quartermaine’s (Amanda Setton) grandpa should show up to watch her tie the knot.
Carmine was last seen on the show back in 1996, but he was being played by John Capodice at the time. Now the role has been recast with George Russo, who’ll first hit the air on May 15.
Of course, that means Carmine Cerullo will appear for May sweeps as Brook Lynn and Harrison Chase’s (Josh Swickard) wedding gets underway, so this is exciting news!
Brook Lynn deserves to have plenty of family around on her special day, so Grandpa Carmine will inevitably make the guest list and become part of the festivities.
Will Carmine approve of Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) or give the good detective a hard time?
Carmine might at least want to have a man-to-man talk with Chase ahead of the nuptials and warn him not to hurt his granddaughter.
That could give Chase a chance to share just how much he loves Brook Lynn and how he intends to cherish her for the rest of his days.
Perhaps Chase can ultimately get Carmine’s approval before he heads to the altar.
Although this is the first time George Russo has been on a soap, he’s been featured in plenty of other film and television projects over the years.
You might recognize Russo from his roles on The Offer, Kensington, Rules Don’t Apply, Camp Sunshine, Shameless and more.
Since Carmine Cerullo will pop up for all the wedding fun, will Ellen Travolta reprise her role as Gloria Cerullo and bring Brook Lynn’s grandma back to town as well?
We’ll have to wait and see since there’s no confirmation on Travolta’s potential GH return just yet.
However, Brook Lynn will have Carmine, Lois Cerullo (Rena Sofer), Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth), Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) and plenty of other loved ones surrounding her on this special occasion.
It’ll be a day to remember no matter what – especially if some wedding drama plays out before Brook Lynn and Chase actually say their vows.
