General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Cynthia Watros (Nina Reeves) delivered a powerhouse performance in the April 22 episode, which brought the end of two important relationships in Nina’s life.
Up until then, Nina had been clinging to hope that she might be able to repair her damaged marriage to Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard), but she finally threw in the towel.
Nina signed the divorce papers and angrily announced Ava Jerome (Maura West) could have Sonny since she’s clearly got an agenda to get closer to him.
That cemented the end of Ava and Nina’s friendship as well.
On X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, Cynthia Watros spoke out about the conclusion of these relationships.
Watros sent some love to GH fans who supported her pairing with Sonny and BFF status with Ava.
“I love you my Sona/Niva peeps. Loved every minute of this journey,” Watros said before adding an emoji heart and an “xo.”
Although Nina and Ava have definitely stepped out of friendly territory for now, Maura West replied to Watros’ post and offered a little hope for the future.
“Sometimes when I’m on a journey I get turned around somehow and have to pull over and get back on course…. #Niva xx,” West said.
It’s clear that regardless of what’s happening between Ava and Nina on-screen, West and Watros remain close behind the scenes.
In fact, Watros replied to West with a sweet message that proves it!
“I will go anywhere with you,” Cynthia Watros insisted – and she included another emoji heart to keep the love fest going strong.
Of course, viewers have different opinions on who Nina should be with romantically.
Some fans were glad to see Nina sign the divorce papers at last while others were disappointed over the end of Sonny and Nina’s chapter together.
There are also different opinions on Nina’s friendship with Ava since some people felt it never made sense considering their messy history.
Others loved seeing Ava and Nina as besties, so their friend split is difficult news if you fall into that category.
On the bright side, it’s wise to have a “never say never” attitude when it comes to Nina’s relationships with Sonny and Ava coming back around! Anything can happen on soaps, so that’s important to keep in mind.
