General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Chloe Lanier will return as Nelle Benson, so this is big GH comeback news. SOD confirms that Lanier is stepping back into the role of Nelle for a short-term stint, but they’re keeping the details under wraps.
Nelle supposedly died after one final faceoff with Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) and a cliff fall back in 2020, but the dead don’t always stay dead on soaps!
Since Nelle’s body was never shown onscreen, they left some wiggle room in case they want to bring Nelle back alive.
Of course, we should mention that Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) has a horrible nightmare coming up.
Since Willow fears her own death due to her leukemia diagnosis, she might imagine Nelle dragging her down to the grave with her or something along those lines.
Then again, maybe Willow could dream that Nelle is alive and back to claim Wiley Quartermaine-Corinthos (Viron Weaver).
Willow might imagine the horror of dying while Nelle returns to take over Mommy duty.
Regardless, Willow might wake up and try to tell herself that it was only a dream – that Nelle is gone forever and can’t hurt anyone now.
That might be the perfect time to reveal that Nelle survived and that she’s in hiding somewhere.
It’d bring a great cliffhanger and could potentially set up a bigger story later on.
Chloe Lanier is only back briefly for now, but she’s open to other return stints – and that also leaves the door open for more Nelle-related storylines.
Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) didn’t find out Nelle Benson was her daughter until it was too late to connect with her, so it’d be nice to see her get a second chance.
Willow also doesn’t know about her twin sister link to Nelle yet, so the show is sitting on a goldmine of messed-up family drama.
