GENERAL Hospital has had to temporarily write off another beloved character just weeks after replacing another fan-favorite.
Fans knew actor Nicholas Alexander Chavez — portraying Spencer Cassadine — would need time off soon to complete another film series he had signed on to.

The actor will play a starring role in the second season of Netflix‘s limited series Monsters: The Menendez Brothers.
And now, General Hospital lovers know more about how he will exit the show.
Spencer, who only recently sparked a romance with Trina, is expected to appear in his last episode on January 31, according to TVLine.
While we still don’t know exactly what will cause Spencer to depart the storyline, we can expect him to be gone for several months.

The couple only recently arrived in Paris for Trina’s semester at the Sorbonne, and although Spencer seems far from the troubles he faced before, their current narratives leave many options for his departure.
There is some good news: Sources already confirmed that Ali, and her character, will be sticking around.
Nicholas has appeared in over 260 episodes of GH since first debuting on the show in 2021.

General Hospital fans had to get used to another replacement just last month when veteran actress Nicole Paggi took on Kirsten Storms’ role after her unexplained and unexpected absence from the hit show.
Some GH fans shared their grief about Spencer’s departure on social media with comments wishing him well and wondering how things will move on without him.
“Several months?? Ugh. Love Spencer & Trina aka Sprina! Hopefully it doesn’t feel like that long. NAC is a wonderful actor; GH is lucky to have him!” one user posted on X.
