General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Ryan Paevey (ex-Nathan West) will always be a GH alum who’s very missed on the ABC soap. Nathan may be gone, but he’ll never be forgotten by viewers who loved him in the role.
However, Ryan Paevey has become a fan favorite through Hallmark movies as well. In fact, Paevey recently scored the number one spot in a Woman’s World article about their favorite Hallmark hunks.
Despite all that, Paevey seems a bit discouraged about acting as a profession and hinted about taking an extended break.
On X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, Paevey opened up about his difficulties and shared why he might step away from acting for the rest of the year.
“Sadly no word of a film…i may take 2024 off from filming, unless the project is with friends,” Paevey said.
Since a good chunk of 2023 was tough for Paevey and 2024 hasn’t been much better, he got honest about being fed up with showbiz in general.
“The last 8 months of life in this industry have left a pretty bitter taste in my mouth, and i need some time away from a world so full of fake friends and empty promises. I’m weary…” Paevey admitted in his post.
Ryan Paevey has plenty to keep him busy thanks to his line of hand-crafted jewelry and apparel called Fortunate Wanderer.
Since his brother has a restaurant, Paevey has also pitched in as a waiter in recent months to help him out.
Of course, Paevey enjoys surfing as well, so he spends some of his free time catching waves.
Since Paevey still has lots of gratitude, he clarified his stance in another post.
“Oh it’s alright. I had a great run. I like my simple life in my shop, helping little bro, and frequent surfs,” Paevey said.
In other words, Paevey has other things to fill his time – though he’s not completely shutting the door on any new acting projects that might come along.
“I have much to be grateful for, I’ll figure out a way to stay afloat without acting income…who knows, maybe a film will come along. Insurance would be nice, haha,” Paevey said.
One X user asked if Paevey still wanted fans to push for new Hallmark films in the online groups that support him, so let’s look at his response.
“I mean, I’d like to think the powers that be know I’d happily do another film if they wanted me to.
But I don’t know anymore…so I’m just gonna do life, and make plans, and work…and whatever happens happens,” Paevey insisted.
