Gen V is back for its sophomore year after a brief-ish and wild hiatus. We’ve been wondering what happened to Marie Moreau and her crew since we saw them locked in a secure facility following Homelander’s arrival. How will they get out? What choices will they make next? How will Cate and Sam’s betrayal rock their world? We get a taste of the answers to those burning questions in the first trailer for Gen V season two.
In it, we meet Cipher, the new dean at Godolkin University. Unfortunately, he’s a terrible person who creates division between humans and supes and intends to use Marie and company like soldiers. The initiative that Homelander set in place to essentially be the POTUS is underway, with folks like Cate Dunlap fully on board with his chaos.
Andre’s father is supremely upset after the loss of his son, which we don’t see in the trailer. This route wasn’t unexpected considering Chance Perdomo’s untimely death right before filming Gen V’s second season. Instead of quickly writing off his demise, they are making it a part of the storyline to honor his life. I love that.
Here’s a quick synopsis to go along with Gen V season two trailer:
In Season Two, school is back in session. As the rest of America adjusts to Homelander’s iron fist, back at Godolkin University, the mysterious new Dean preaches a curriculum that promises to make students more powerful than ever. Cate and Sam are celebrated heroes, while Marie, Jordan, and Emma reluctantly return to college, burdened by months of trauma and loss. But parties and classes are hard to care about with war brewing between Humans and Supes, both on and off campus. The gang learns of a secret program that goes back to the founding of Godolkin University that may have larger implications than they realize. And, somehow, Marie is a part of it.
