The hilarious mocu-series that chronicled the lives of a family of vampires who lived in Staten Island, New York, is ending after season six, Vulture reported on Tuesday.

What We Do In The Shadows will begin production for season six in January 2024, the news outlet explained.

During its run, the program was nominated for many Emmys.

In 2022, What We Do In The Shadows won a GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Comedy Series.

Along with acquiring many Emmy nominations, the show has also garnered many loyal fans.

What We in The Shadows’ supporters were so into the show that it broke their hearts to know the upcoming season is the final one.

“Nope. Not ready for this show to be over,” one fan wrote on X, fka Twitter.

Another wrote on the social media platform: “I’m sad, but I get it. I think we could probably have got another couple of seasons, but this is okay.”

What We Do In The Shadows isn’t the only show cut from FX.

In June, the network announced that Breeders was ending after four seasons.

Starring Martin Freeman and Daisy Haggard, the family comedy concluded after the final 10 episodes.

The new season premiered on July 31 on FX, with weekly installments of the episodes available on Hulu the following day.

Fans learned that Breeders was renewed for a fourth season in July 2022, just hours after the third season ended.

It quickly grew in popularity last year after the show was offered on international streaming services, such as Star+ in Latin America.

Now the series will conclude by skipping five years to show the Worsley’s face big challenges in their marriage and as parents.

FANS’ REACTIONS

Viewers expressed their frustrations about the show’s end on X, with one tweeting: “Nooooooooo!!!!!!!!” with a bunch of laughing face emojis.

Another disappointed fan wrote: “Awww I loved that show!”

A third echoed the thought: “I love this show. I wish it wasn’t ending.”

While a fourth found it bittersweet there was one last season: “Can not wait! Sad it’s the last series! Love this program.”

CANCELED SHOWS

In May, FX’s partner channel, FXX, announced another popular series being released from their lineup.

The TV station revealed that the animated series Archer got the boot, garnering outrage from devoted watchers.

Archer debuted on FX in 2009 and moved to FXX in 2017.

And just weeks earlier, Fox canceled the medical drama, The Resident after six seasons on the air.

The show reportedly got canned due to low ratings, with the latest season down 12% in viewership from season five and 35% from season one.
