While Travis Kelce has starred in reality television before, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end is looking to make an official jump into the world of acting, as he’s set to feature in the upcoming FX and Hulu series Grotesquerie.
The series, which hails from prolific American Horror Story creator Ryan Murphy, will be premiering on FX and Hulu on Wednesday, September 25. The first teaser trailer, released on Thursday, August 15, features the first look at Travis Kelce in his role. At this time, Kelce’s role has not been disclosed.
Here is the official synopsis for Grotesquerie, via FX:
“In FX’s Grotesquerie, a series of heinous crimes have unsettled a small community. Detective Lois Tryon feels these crimes are eerily personal, as if someone—or something—is taunting her. With no leads and unsure of where to turn, she accepts the help of Sister Megan. However, they find themselves ensnared in a sinister web that only seems to raise more questions than answers.”
In addition to Kelce, Grotesquerie also stars Niecy Nash-Betts, Courtney B. Vance, Lesley Manville, Micaela Diamond, Nicholas Alexander Chavez, and Raven Goodwin. Alongside acting, Kelce has also taken up producing as he’s a producer on the upcoming film My Dead Friend Zoe, which stars Natalie Morales, Ed Harris, and Morgan Freeman
Prior to the premiere of Grotesquerie, Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs will kick off the 2024/25 NFL season with a home matchup against Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday, September 5.
