Pedro Pascal is a busy guy. (Well, slightly less busy than he used to be SPOILERS.) We spent much of last week excited about the new trailer for The Fantastic Four: First Steps. Mr. Pascal assays the role of Mr. Fantastic, a heroic father out to save the world from Galactus. We got so excited we nearly forgot about his other other big genre franchise, The Mandalorian. Indeed, that series is heading to the big screen with The Mandalorian and Grogu. Lucky for us who couldn’t get to Japan for this year’s Star Wars Celebration, the good folks at ComicBook.com have posted a first look at Pedro as Din Djarin from that movie, helmet off like a real heretic.
He looks…well, pretty much like he always does. However, the beauty of this is that a) the Mando armor always looks awesome. And 2), Pedro Pascal is an exceedingly handsome man. We’re not sure how much of helmet-less Din we’ll get in the movie. Infamously, in season three of the Disney+ series, Pascal was mostly a voice role with stunt performers physically portraying the titular hero. However, with a big screen outing, and with the Mandalorian himself a big disillusioned with “The Way,” the guy can afford to take his darn helmet off.
The Mandalorian and Grogu comes from director/co-writer/co-producer Jon Favreau and co-writer/co-producer Dave Filoni. So far we don’t know a ton about it, beyond a couple of notable supporting actors. Sigourney Weaver will play an unnamed character, while Jeremy Allen White will voice, of all characters, Rotta the Hutt. We also have a release date: May 2026. That means Pedro Pascal will headline two enormous blockbusters within the same 12 month span. Jolly jeepers. Good work, guy who got his head crushed on Game of Thrones one time. You deserve it.
