Maria, who lives in Texas, visited Ree’s shop, restaurant, and bakery in November 2021.

She claimed she fell over a “horseshoe installed as a doorstop”, according to court documents obtained by KTUL ABC 8.

The filing stated: “The Mercantile installed a horseshoe affixed to the ground with the loop facing up, so the loop became a hidden trap, pitfall, or snare.

“The horseshoe was installed as a doorstop. The elderly Plaintiff was pushed so her foot got caught in the loop, she fell backward, and suffered a severe injury.”

Ree “failed to inspect, maintain, and repair its premises in a reasonable safe condition” and “failed to warn customers” about the possible danger presented by the horseshoe, the docs claimed.

Maria has suffered “pain of mind and body, lost the enjoyment of life, and has been disabled in her activities of daily living,” the filing added.

She is suing Ree for $75,000 in damages.

The Food Network star has not publicly commented on the lawsuit.

She opened the Mercantile in 2016 after renovating the 100-year-old downtown Pawhuska building for four years to create a restaurant and retail store.

Ree became a household name for her blog Pioneer Women, documenting her daily life as a ranch wife and mother.

Her blog was so successful that in 2011 Pioneer Woman became a television program on The Food Network.

She lives on a ranch outside Pawhuska, Oklahoma, with her husband, Ladd.

The couple shares five children: Alex, Paige, Bryce, Jamar, and Todd.

Ree lost 55 pounds last year, dropping jaws by looking almost unrecognizable after her weight loss.

On her blog, Ree confessed she did it all on her own after deciding to overhaul her health and fitness in January 2021.

“I didn’t use a trainer, I didn’t do Keto or Paleo or follow an official diet, I didn’t eat specialty foods, and I didn’t do intermittent fasting,” she shared.

“Those things work for lots of people, which is wonderful! I just hadn’t had success with them.”

Instead, the baker cut calories, ate smaller portions, weighed her food, and increased her exercise.
