Mercyful Fate are heading out on their first headlining tour in North America in more than 20 years. The Danish black metal group will kick things off in Dallas this October, making their way through Arizona and California before heading east, with performances in Detroit, Brooklyn, and Boston, among other major markets. Find those dates below.

In a statement accompanying the announcement, Mercyful Fate vocalist King Diamond said that the tour presents a unique opportunity for the band to bring their European festival setup to the United States and Canada. “Your special chance to see Mercyful Fate with the full European festival production, but up close and personal,” he shared in a statement. “You cannot miss this…I hearby respectfully invite you to Come to the Sabbath, by which you may free your soul and feast with us in the dark of night. Witches and Demons, you may come as you are!”

Mercyful Fate formed in Copenhagen, Denmark in 1981. The band released their self-titled EP in 1982, which was followed by their debut album, Melissa, in 1983. Since then, they have released eight other albums including 9 in 1999. The band is currently working on the followup to 9, and have performed new songs from the album at festival dates in Europe.
