Fucked Up Announce New Album One Day, Share New Video: Watch

Fucked Up: One Day

Fucked Up have announced a new album, due early next year. It’s titled One Day and it’s out January 27 via Merge. According to a press release, the record is built on the question, “What do you think you would do, or be able to accomplish, if you were just given one day?” The band has shared the title track with a video directed by Colin Medley. Check out “One Day” with the rest of the tracklist below.

One Day features vocalist Damian Abraham contributing lyrics to the group’s material for the first time since 2014’s Glass Boys. Abraham, in a press release, shared a brief statement about his approach:

It almost felt like it might be the last time I’d ever get to record vocals for anything. What do I want to say to friends who aren’t here anymore? What do I want to say to myself? There was a lot of inner reflection going on, and after retreating into the fantasy world with Year of the Horse, this record is like we’re returning to real life.

One Day follows last year’s Year of the Horse, a continuation of the band’s long-running series of Zodiac-themed releases. Fucked Up more recently issued Do All Words Can Do (a collection of David Comes to Life–era singles) and the Oberon EP.
