ABC has aired its 2023 Disney Parks Christmas Day Parade on Monday, but not all viewers are happy with how the program played out.

Angry fans of the event have blasted the program for being pre-recorded instead of live, as well as including many old clips from past years.

The two-hour-long special event aired as part of the network’s Christmas Day programming.

Disney Parks Christmas Day Parade was hosted by Julianne Hough and her brother, Derek, and featured a slew of old and new performances.

Some viewers shared they expected the program to air live and were upset to learn it was all previously recorded.

Most of the content was filmed at Walt Disney World Resort a few weeks ago.

On top of the new productions being pre-taped, fans were confused as to why so many clips were being shown from previous editions of the affair.

One angry fan tweeted: “#DisneyChristmasParade must be a hidden live parade there somewhere, so far a lot of clips from #ChristmasPast…Is any part live?”

A second wrote: “Wait, they didn’t even record new segments for the Christmas Day Parade???

“Pretty sure this Gwen Stefani performance was listed as being from 2018….. Can we just go back to the live parade, please?”

A third viewer wondered: “So this Disney Christmas parade is not a parade at all… it’s all pre recorded performances… why is it called a parade? Time to switch to price is right”

“I’m legit watching the 1996 Christmas Day parade from @RetroWDW on YouTube bc I can’t take it anymore,” one fan said. “So lazy.”

Another agreed, tweeting: “I stopped watching it years ago. They should just call it Christmas Day Concert (with a minute of parade).”

While fans remained unsure as to why the entirety of the program had to be pre-taped instead of live, one helpful viewer helped explain the old clips to those confused.

The social media user shared: “It’s the 40th anniversary of the parade, so it is a mix of performances from this year and previous performances from earlier years.

Of those who did stick around to watch the whole broadcast, many became concerned about one of the performers.

Beloved singer Michael Bolton had viewers worried after they noticed his behavior during his end-of-show performance.
