A customer and former employee of Popeyes left the fast-food chain disgusted after opening a box of Signature Hot Wings. Her experience is sparking discussion about the popular menu item.
As can be seen in her video, TikToker Rachel Adrine (@racheladrine) opens two boxes of the hot wings on the counter of Popeyes. The wings are fried like they should be. But she takes issue with how they are sauced. Globs of a thick, brown sauce sit on top of them.
“This is not what the chicken wings are supposed to look like!” she exclaims.
What Do The Signature Hot Wings Look Like?
She pans the camera up to the advertisement, which shows perfectly tossed and seasoned chicken wings. On Popeyes’ website, the wings are evenly coated and tossed in a red Cajun sauce.
“The wings are supposed to be tossed,” she tells the Popeyes worker. “It should not be sitting on top of the chicken like s—.”
She accuses the worker of making the menu item “wrong.” The worker argues back, insisting there’s nothing wrong with the chicken.
Then, Adrine decides to walk out. On her way out, she shares with viewers that she is a former Popeyes employee.
“I hated that rowdy customer. But god—-. I’ve had the chicken wings before, and they have never in my life looked like that,” she says at the end of the clip.
The caption reads, “Then she gon try to pull the chicken away when I pull out my phone.”
Popeyes Responds
In a comment, the Popeyes official TikTok account admitted that “this order does not meet [its] standards.” Also, the account asked Adrine for more information.
Adrine tells BroBible that Popeyes said it would “investigate.” However, she says it did not respond to her request for an update.

Popeyes Customers Are Grossed Out
In the comments, Popeyes customers say they’re grossed out by the “feces-like” sauce on the chicken.
“Is that dew dew?” one asked.
“I JUST BUSSED OUT LAUGHING WTH IS THAT,” another wrote.
And a third joked, “Who taught her? The way she piped the sauce on top. Is that supposed to be dessert wings? LMAO.”
Others suggested Adrine get a refund instead of asking for the wings to be made correctly.
“Just get a refund and leave. Chicken ain’t worth all that,” a commenter wrote.
Another suggested, “Sis, ask for money back, problem solved. They don’t want to make it never argue.”
“Girl, as someone who is a chef, take your money and leave, asking them to redo it over in that way, it’s going to be unsanitized, unclean with foreign bodies in it, number one rule, you do not argue with people who serve you food,” a third said.
Later, in a follow-up video, Adrine clarifies that she argued with the Popeyes worker because they initially declined to give her a refund. However, she says she eventually received the refund for her entire meal.
