Erika Fernandez is back in the gym – in her workout clothes. In a new social media post the Mexico Fox Sports personality shows off her famous figure in a Nike exercise ensemble, revealing her flat and toned abs. “I’m Back,” she captioned the photo. “With all the respect of the universe you are something irresistible,” commented one of her followers, while others simply left fire emojis. How does the star approach health and fitness? Here is everything you need to know about her health habits.
Erika walks her dog daily. Going for a daily walk can be a game changer in terms of exercise, especially at a brisk speed. One study published in JAMA Internal Medicine found that walking at a brisk pace for about 30 minutes a day led to a reduced risk of heart disease, cancer, dementia and death, compared with walking a similar number of steps but at a slower pace.
Erika also runs to stay fit. Here she is about to run on the treadmill. “I came to train,” she captioned the snaps. According to the Mayo Clinic, running is great for cardiovascular health, muscle building, and weight loss. “For every mile run, the average person will burn approximately 100 calories,” they say.
Erika is a yogi. “I bend so I don’t break,” she captioned this post. There is a laundry list of reasons to do yoga, explains Harvard Health. “Researchers found that people who practiced yoga for at least 30 minutes once a week for at least four years, gained less weight during middle adulthood,” they said. “People who were overweight actually lost weight. Overall, those who practiced yoga had lower body mass indexes (BMIs) compared with those who did not practice yoga. Researchers attributed this to mindfulness. Mindful eating can lead to a more positive relationship with food and eating.”
Erika prioritizes self-care. When she is having a hard time, you can find her in the bathtub. “I already hugged and told myself that today was not a bad day, I thanked my body for allowing me to do daily, I dried my tears, played with my reflection in the bathroom key, I was almost an hour thinking a lot of things and reading their messages are all so beautiful,” she captioned a post. If you are having a bad day, taking a bath may be a good pick-me-up. They have been linked to better sleep and even found helpful to minimize anxiety and depression. One recent study even found that they may even boast cardiovascular benefits.
As can be evidenced in her latest post, Erika spends a lot of time at the gym strength and weight training.
