Haliey Welch (this is the actual spelling of her name, as per her Instagram) went viral in June when she became known as the Hawk Tuah Girl.
In case you’ve been living under a rock for the last month — If so, where’s my invite? Because that sounds amazing — Welch went viral thanks to a clip of her conducting a man-on-the-street interview in which she enthusiastically detailed her saliva-soaked third-base method.
Fast forward a few weeks and she has over 1.3 million followers on Instagram and another 1.1 million on TikTok, confirming we either live in a simulation (and a broken one at that) or hell.
While, as we’ve reported, other blonde country chicks have been cringeworthily trying to recreate Welch’s viral fame, an English woman in Germany for the Euros has actually achieved it by being the opposite of Welch. You know that old cliche, those who do not seek power are those most fit to wield it.
In a video posted to social media by Daily Mail Sport, a woman interviewed following England’s dramatic 2-1 Euro semi-final win in Germany is going viral due to her calming, soft-spoken demeanor and emotionally supportive attitude — a stark contrast to Hawk Tuah Girl’s particular brand of charm.
At the time of this writing, the video has wracked up over 14,000 likes on Instagram and 58,000 likes on Twitter.
“They gave that Hawk Tuah girl all the hype but women like this go unnoticed? Cruel game man,” said one viral response to the video.
“So many watched this expecting a Hawk Tuah 2.0 instead they got a sober, well spoken and articulate football fan,” read another Hawk Tuah comparison on Twitter.
As it turns out, the woman in the video is named Jolie Sharpe and is an aspiring broadcaster in her own right.
Even prior to her viral moment, Sharpe had a sizeable following on social media as she has over 22,000 followers on Instagram (at the time of this writing). Given how popular she is with soccer fans now, though, we have a feeling that number will be growing.
