Hosk shared some of her fitness secrets in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar. In it, she shared how she stays motivated to workout. “It can be hard to find time sometimes, but it’s all about motivating yourself. I do whatever I can whenever I can. It doesn’t have to be grueling, most of the time I bring a jump rope and find a peaceful place and skip to music. I also always travel with gliders, for some leg and glute exercises. I just left a trip in Turks and Caicos with Victoria’s Secret, and all the girls in the team got together and did bootcamp classes at lunch break. That was a fun way to get workouts in. Everybody brought different exercises on different days. We had yoga, barre, pool aerobics and body weight training.”
When it comes to her diet, Hosk doesn’t believe in depriving herself. “I generally always eat what I want,” she told Harper’s Bazaar. “I think when you work out a lot, you can afford to eat more because your body’s metabolism is higher. I like healthy food and prefer that anyways, but if I want pizza or a can of Coca-Cola every once in a while I’m going to have it. I just try to have a few slices and that’s it.”
Hosk shared some of her favorite workouts in her Harper’s Bazaar interview. She says that she loves to box to stay in shape. “I’m obsessed with boxing. I go to Kwame at Mendez Boxing NYC, he is amazing and we have made some serious progress in the last couple of years. I love it because you are learning something new every time, and that keeps me coming back for more. I’m really into fast paced, high energy workouts.”
Hosk tells Harper’s Bazaar that she likes to take fitness classes, and shared some of her favorites. “I’m really into fast paced, high energy workouts, but I do mix it up with barre classes at Flywheel Sports, and I love 30/60/90 classes at Equinox. Those are insane!” Iowa State University states that group exercise has a lot of benefits. “Even if you’ve already decided exercising is something you want to do and intend to do, there are different kinds of motivation that can determine if you are successful at beginning and maintaining exercise. Exercising with others can boost those motivations. The highest quality or type of motivation is called intrinsic motivation – you’re doing something because the behavior itself is enjoyable, satisfying or both. If you enjoy exercise and not just the positive feelings you get after you’ve worked out, you are more likely to stick with it. Exercising with other people can supply that enjoyment, even if the activity itself is difficult or otherwise not something you love. Group exercise can turn working out into a fun social activity, which could lead to you continuing to do it.”
Hosk has amazing skin, and she makes sure to take care of it. She shared her routine with ELLE. “I’m really into Dr. Barbara Strum products,” Hosk says, “Her stuff is calming, all-natural ingredients and really makes my skin glow. I do a hyalauronic acid serum, then I do a good moisturizer, and then I start doing makeup. I always do foundation, concealer, eyeliner, then some rouge.”
