It is a proud moment for actor and comedian Eddie Murphy whose eldest daughter, Bria Murphy, tied the nuptials with her fiancé Michael Xavier on Saturday, July 9, 2022.
According to People, the pair exchanged their vows with 250 family and friends in attendance. The newlyweds’ wedding party included the “Coming To America” star, who carried out the duties of walking his daughter down the aisle, and his ex-wife, model, and former reality star, Nicole Mitchell Murphy.

They Got Married In Beverly Hills
Bria and her fiancé, Xavier, tied the knot in front of 250 of their closest friends and family in an enchanting outdoor ceremony in Beverly Hills.
Per People, the bride was escorted down the aisle with her 61-year-old father, Eddie, under a canopy of roses and white blossoms. Her mother, Nicole, was in attendance on this special day.
During the ceremony, Bria wore a gorgeous, off-shoulder bridal gown designed by Netta Ben Shabu. It was embellished with lace and had a flowing train behind her. The dress was also paired with a floral choker, dazzling earrings, and necklace. Xavier also sported a knot standard tuxedo, styled by Dion Lattimore.
At the reception, “The Nutty Professor” star took to the stage to share some words of love about his eldest daughter.
“I’m just very, very proud. Very, very happy,” the comedian said in a video captured by photographer Caldwell Blair. “It is very, very nice to see all of you, and I wish Bria and Michael nothing but love and happiness.”
Images show Bria beaming throughout the celebration, which featured romantic decor, including candlelit chandeliers and white flowers.
One image features the newlyweds posing with the bride’s family, and in another, Bria sits on her husband’s lap.
The Groom Shared Videos Of The Ceremony
Xavier also shared videos of the celebration on his Instagram stories.
One video featured Xavier and Bria walking into the wedding reception venue. The video showed floral decorations hanging from the ceiling, colorful flower bouquets on nearly every surface, and string lights on the treetops.
Another video showed the duo standing on the podium while he gave a speech about their relationship. He admitted that marrying Bria was “surreal” and reminisced seeing her for the first time in a magazine a decade ago.
At a point during the ceremony, family, guests, and the newlywed couple danced to the tune of the 1990 hit song, “My, My, My,” which was being sung by Johnny Gill. One of the videos featured Xavier singing along.
In the final video, Bria and Xavier danced together as guests cheered from the sidelines.
Bria Murphy And Michael Xavier Got Engaged In 2021
Bria announced her engagement with Xavier–who’s commonly known for his roles in movies such as “A Christmas Treasure,” “Bold Type,” “Taken,” “Private Eyes,” and “You Make It Feel Like Christmas,”– in December 2021.
She shared this news with a collection of engagement pictures on Instagram, calling her then-fiancé, “My heart, my best friend, my forever.” She continued, “I love you, always.” In another upload, she added, “I cannot wait to marry you.”
Xavier shared the same images on his feed with the caption, “Forever my love.”
Eddie Murphy Has Always Been Proud Of His Daughter
The Hollywood veteran has always spoken about his multi-talented daughter in high regard. While speaking to L.Reporters at Bria’s art show in 2020, the “Beverly Hills Cop” star described her as a “good kid.”
“I’m glad people get to see how talented she is,” Eddie told the reporters. “We’ve known for years how talented she is. It’s exciting to see her stuff up on the walls… I’m having all of those proud parent feelings.”
He added, “I really got lucky with my kids. There really isn’t a bad one in the bunch; everyone turned out to be really good people.”
Bria is one of Eddie’s 10 children. He’s also father to 33-year-old Eric, 31-year-old Christian, 29-year-old Miles, 27-year-old Shayne, 22-year-old Zola, 20-year-old Bella, 15-year-old Angel Iris, 6-year-old Izzy Oona, and 3-year-old Max Charles.
