Despite being in just two feature films so far, Dua Lipa has had a common co-star in both of them: John Cena.

In Barbie, the pair appear together as a Barbie Mermaid and Merman. Next up, in Matthew Vaughn’s upcoming action comedy Argylle, the pair are once again starring and sharing scenes together.

The pair have become so close, in fact, that Lipa recently called the former WWE Champion her “emotional support actor.”

“I can’t do a single thing without him,” Lipa joked during a recent interview with Rolling Stone. “I’ve loved working with him. I think we’re each other’s emotional support actor.”

Lipa also says that Cena and his wife have been frequenting a Persian restaurant that the pop star once recommended to the couple.

“I always get a text and a picture after they’d been,” she said.

In addition to Lipa and Cena, Argylle — which will be released in movie theaters on Friday, February 2 — also stars Sam Rockwell, Henry Cavill, Bryce Dallas Howard, Bryan Cranston, Catherine O’Hara, Samuel L. Jackson, Ariana DeBose, Rob Delaney, Sofia Boutella, Jing Lusi, and more.

2024 is shaping up to be a massive year for Lipa as she’ll not only have her biggest film role yet in Argylle but will also be releasing her third studio album, which is Lipa’s highly-anticipated follow-up to her 2020 Grammy-winning record Future Nostalgia.

As for Cena, he’s got a second season of his hit MAX series Peacemaker coming up, in addition to the comedy film Ricky Stanicky alongside Zac Efron.

Cena is also the star of the recently and controversial canceled Coyote vs. Acme movie, which is currently in the market for a new studio that will release the film, and is attached to projects such as Grand Death Lotto and Heads of State.
