DOCTOR WHO Season 2 Trailer Teases a Broken TARDIS, Animated Humor, and Many Space Adventures

Doctor Who season two is right around the corner. This round will introduce fans to a new companion, Belinda Chandra, who takes the long way home when she meets the Doctor. A previous look at this season’s time-traveling adventures gave us a darker and more serious tone than much of what we experienced last season. But, the latest trailer for Doctor Who season two leans into the show’s penchant for balancing heartbreak and tragedy with hope.

It is a fantastic ride through the universe that’s humorous, heartfelt, and a little weird. That’s what we love to see in this series. The clip reveals that the Doctor meets Belinda and she believes she’s been gone from Earth for only two hours. In reality, it’s been six months since her departure.

Belinda’s trip with the Doctor leads them to all sorts of adventures and times, from the distant future to 2007 to 1952. They even become animated figures, thanks to Alan Cummings’ Mr. Ring-A-Ding character. Belinda seems like quite the delight, playfully calling herself “the Nurse” in response to the Doctor’s moniker. But, of course, there’s always trouble. That is the Doctor Who way, after all, and this trailer teases some of what will happen.

DOCTOR WHO Reveals Season Two Release Date, Alan Cumming As a Cartoon Character

The TARDIS breaks, reality is out of sync, and many lives are in danger. It’s rather refreshing to see all sorts of new villains, including many robots, and for the show to appear to spend more time away from Earth. While we love the many shenanigans that happen on our planet, we really want to escape to other places in the universe.
