Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers reveal that another cast member has hit the exit door. SOD confirms that Peter Porte is out at DOOL, so he’s officially finished his run as Dimitri von Leuschner.
In the December 12 episode, Leo Stark (Greg Rikaart) got some horrible news over the phone.
Dimitri was transferred to a supermax prison, so it seems Melinda Trask (Tina Huang) kept her word and made that happen for Sloan Petersen-Brady (Jessica Serfaty).
Of course, that leaves Leo without a love interest, but it also opens the door to some new story opportunities.
We’re already seeing a more sinister version of Leo now that he’s been burned and has nothing left to lose.
As for Dimitri von Leuschner, his time has run out at Days – at least for now! There’s always a chance Dimitri will pull off another escape or even wiggle out of his legal charges down the road.
Until then, Dimitri has been written into a corner, so it makes sense that the show’s sending him away and focusing on other characters.
Peter Porte first appeared as Dimitri on Days of Our Lives: Beyond Salem back in 2021 before making his debut on the main show starting in May 2023.
Although Leo’s lover will be locked up tight for the foreseeable future, Greg Rikaart is sticking around and will get some exciting material in Dimitri’s absence.
Dimitri’s exit comes on the heels of several others, so Salem has lost some familiar faces lately.
Li Shin (Remington Hoffman), Belle Brady (Martha Madison), Shawn Brady (Brandon Beemer), Talia Hunter (Aketra Sevillian), Chloe Lane (Nadia Bjorlin), Philip Kiriakis (John-Paul Lavoisier) and Rex Brady (Kyle Lowder) all wrapped their runs in recent months.
We can’t forget about the shocking Theresa Donovan swap either since Emily O’Brien departed the role of Gwen Rizczech and took over for Jen Lilley following her own departure.
