Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers reveal that Paul Telfer has been delighting fans for years as the hunky and now reformed Xander Cook, but some viewers grew concerned about his exit recently. It turns out the culprit was someone impersonating Telfer online, so the real Telfer spoke out to set the record straight about his Days status.
After a fan shared a screenshot of the impersonator’s exit announcement and warned other fans not to believe him, Telfer addressed the false Facebook post and cleared things up with his classic sense of humor.
“Please know that I would never announce anything like this on social media – especially with such poor grammar…” Telfer said in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter.
It didn’t take long for Days viewers to pipe up with relief and gratitude over the news that Xander was sticking around.
When one fan said she was happy that Telfer wasn’t leaving, Telfer indicated that he was, too.
However, Telfer joked around with other fans who pointed out that they’d back him up if he ever needed the support the fake post was pleading for.
Telfer said it was “good to know haha” and gave a salute emoji to another fan who pointed out there’d be a whole campaign to save Xander if he was exiting.
Online impersonators can certainly be frustrating for soap stars, but it’s good that Telfer addressed the issue and shut this person down with his usual charm.
Xander isn’t leaving and has plenty of great DOOL drama in the works, so there’s no need to worry about his future in Salem.
Of course, there are two major Days storylines going on that’ll give Paul Telfer a chance to shine.
The first one is Xander’s revenge since it looks like he’ll get back at Stefan DiMera (Brandon Barash) for framing him.
Xander will also face some stunning revelations down the road since he’s the biological child that Victor Kiriakis (John Aniston) was trying to acknowledge in his will – not Alex Kiriakis (Robert Scott Wilson).
Theresa Donovan (Emily O’Brien) and Konstantin Meleounis’ (John Kapelos) scheme will come to light eventually, so that’ll give Xander an opportunity to seek another round of vengeance.
