Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers reveal that fans will see a new face playing Thomas DiMera for a couple of upcoming Christmas episodes. Cary Christopher normally portrays Chad DiMera’s (Billy Flynn) inquisitive son, but the role had to be recast temporarily when they filmed all the holiday scenes in Salem.
According to Christopher’s Facebook account, he was sick with the flu and wasn’t able to be part of the Christmas fun.
That left Days with an emergency recast situation, but they thankfully found another young actor to fill in.
SOD confirms that Henry Witcher will portray Thomas DiMera in two episodes, so DOOL viewers will briefly see a new version of the character.
Since Cary Christopher couldn’t be there like he wanted to be, it’s great that the show was able to find a talented, adorable replacement.
We have no doubt that Henry Witcher will do a wonderful job once he makes his Days debut.
It looks like Thomas and Charlotte DiMera (Autumn Gendron) will be part of the annual Christmas tree trimming at the Horton house.
Chad will want to give his kids a happy holiday and shield them from any adult drama – at least as much as he can.
Of course, Thomas is often wise beyond his years and asks a lot of questions.
It’s safe to say Thomas could stir up more trouble when it comes to Chad, Stephanie Johnson (Abigail Klein) and Everett Lynch’s (Blake Berris) love triangle.
Whatever the case, Days spoilers say Thomas will play an important role in some of the action happening this year.
The show clearly needed some version of Thomas or they wouldn’t have gone to the trouble of recasting him!
Chad could have his hands full with Thomas and Charlotte at this gathering, so stay tuned for updates on what the kids will be up to.
No matter how things play out, DOOL fans will want to give Henry Witcher a warm welcome and let him have a chance to put his own spin on Thomas.
