Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers reveal that Elia Cantu has joined DOOL as Jada Hunter, so this new detective and love interest option is about to hit Salem. Cantu will debut in the role starting July 19, so let’s talk about what we know so far.
First, we should take a closer look at Jada’s last name. It’s common for a new DOOL character to be an invented relative of an old one.
We’ve heard rumblings that Jada Hunter will be friends with Stephanie Johnson (Abigail Klein) when she returns to town, so that could be a clue.
Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols) grew up with a close pal named Marcus Hunter (Richard Biggs), who was also his buddy once they got older.
It makes sense for Steve and Marcus’ daughters to develop a friendship as well, so Jada may indeed be Marcus’ grown child.
As for Jada’s career, it’s great news that Days is adding a detective.
They’re down two since Lani Price-Grant (Sal Stowers) and Eli Grant (Lamon Archey) were written out, so it’s good to know Jada will be around to help crack cases.
Based on some leaked audition info, it appears Jada will share some early scenes with Clyde Weston (James Read).
Days spoilers suggest that Clyde will want to sue the Salem PD once his name is cleared, which is certainly a pretty Clyde-like thing to do.
However, Jada will advise against it and show a little attitude if the audition info comes true.
It sounds like Jada will be a fun and feisty character – maybe even one who’s looking for love.
Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) seems poised to be the loser of the twin love triangle with Chanel Dupree (Raven Bowens) and Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold), so perhaps he could hit it off with Jada down the road.
Shawn Brady (Brandon Beemer) might be another possibility for Jada depending on whether he can work things out with Belle Brady (Martha Madison).
Regardless, Elia Cantu will first appear as Jada Hunter on July 19, so it’ll be nice to have another detective and love interest option around to shake up the canvas.
