Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers reveal that there’s been a lot of turmoil behind the scenes at the show lately, so that’s left some viewers worried about the possibility of cancelation. With DOOL gearing up for its 60th anniversary in November, fans are eager for answers about the show’s future.

Soap Hub spoke to Michael Sluchan, EVP, Current Scripted Programming & Limited Series for NBC/Peacock and multiple NBCUniversal programming branches, so let’s discuss what he had to say.
Sluchan was on hand for an event on the Winter TV Critics press tour, so he was able to offer some positive updates on Days’ next chapter.
The exec gushed over DOOL viewers’ willingness to follow the show to Peacock and make it a success for the streaming platform.
“[The show] continues to be a top performer, and we’re very much behind Days,” Sluchan insisted before praising fans for all their support.
Sluchan assured everyone that they’re working hard to honor the show’s legacy, which is certainly important ahead of a crucial milestone for the soap.
Since the show tapes so far advance, Sluchan admitted that they’re already filming the 60th season – and they’re quite pleased with how things are shaping up so far.
The exec hinted about some exciting new storylines that are brewing and seemed happy with Ron Carlivati’s work as the show’s head writer.
The action coming up for Days’ 60th anniversary will keep propelling things forward, but it’ll also bring some blast-from-the-past moments to remind fans of the soap’s history.
Although there have been some scandals and changes happening in recent months, Sluchan’s comments seemed hopeful about the content they’re making and what’s next.
Perhaps that’s a sign that Days may score another renewal to take it well beyond the 60th season that’s already been secured.
