Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers reveal that Albert Alarr, a co-executive producer and director who’s been under fire, is officially OUT at DOOL. The show is replacing Alarr following an investigation into misconduct allegations and claims that he caused a toxic workplace environment behind the scenes.
Of course, there was a big online push from angry fans who demanded that Alarr be removed from his position. Many cast members joined the fight by signing a petition calling for Alarr to be replaced – and now Alarr is indeed being forced to vacate his role.
Days Executive Producer Ken Corday made an email announcement to the cast and crew, which revealed that Janet Spellman-Drucker would be promoted to take over for Alarr in the co-executive producer role.
Corday also revealed that Days would be putting a greater emphasis on HR and trying to make sure employees on the show felt comfortable on set.
“Moving forward, we will be implementing additional HR protocols, including an increased HR presence as well as channels for reporting any concerns,” Corday said. “It is imperative that we have a safe and inclusive workplace environment.”
Albert Alarr released a statement of his own denying the accusations that had been brought against him.
Alarr expressed disappointment in the studios for reversing course and caving to the “cynical pressure campaign” that he felt was designed to force him out of his job.
However, many Days stars of the past and present have been speaking out to support what they believe are necessary changes.
Corday confirmed that production would resume following their briefly extended hiatus on August 7 with Janet Spellman-Drucker’s leadership in place.
There’s still a hiatus coming up on August 14, but that’s just a typical unrelated one that was already planned.
