Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers reveal that there’s some behind-the-scenes drama to report involving Arianne Zucker (Nicole DiMera), so let’s talk about her lawsuit and contract situation.
According to the court documents that TMZ got their hands on, Zucker is suing Corday Productions and Albert Alarr, the former executive producer she claims sexually harassed her as well as other female cast members at Days.
Executive Producer Ken Corday is also included in the lawsuit, which reveals Zucker’s accusations about non-consensual touching and inappropriate comments while Alarr was still at the show.
Zucker shared some stories about the misconduct that allegedly went down and said nothing was initially done about the problem.
After Zucker got in touch with Sony’s HR department, she had several meetings with them – though Alarr was allowed to keep working during that time. Zucker argued that it created a sense of violation and intimidation on set.
Although Alarr was fired after the allegations against him caused a stir online, Zucker made it clear that it was too little, too late and called it an attempt for Days to “save face.”
Zucker also ran into negotiation issues when it came time to renew her contract.
Although Zucker said she tried to work out a new deal, she insisted that Corday Productions wasn’t open to a real negotiation.
Arianne Zucker feels that she was basically fired now that her contract has expired, so she’s suing for wrongful termination along with harassment, discrimination, retaliation and more.
A spokesperson for Corday Productions said Zucker’s lawsuit was “without merit” and claimed that Zucker was offered a pay increase before her counteroffer was rejected, which “does not constitute retaliation” according to their statement.
Bottom line, Arianne Zucker is now suing for unspecified damages and is clearly off the show now that this battle’s erupted, so DOOL fans should prepare for her exit.
Days of Our Lives spoilers say Zucker has filmed more scenes beyond Nicole’s temporary Italy break, so her official departure won’t happen until later in the year.
