In a 2019 Instagram post Davinia explained exactly how she lost weight and transformed her body. “This full length mirror you have to walk past each time you want to go to the loo from the pool. I used to hate walking past it when I was overweight full of inflammation and water retention and totally depressed. 😖Now I’m much happier even when I’m full of pmt bloat. I know ,because im doing my best with the information, I have I finally found a way to eat and drink to make me feel happier more energetic and in control of my body,” she wrote. Her main secret? “I intermittent fast,” she said. In the interview with Luminous she revealed details about her fast. “I don’t eat lunch specifically as I will fast until 4pm. But I will have my bulletproof coffees or matcha until around 4pm where I will have some bone broth, celery juice and then dinner a bit later on with my family,” she said.
Davinia approaches food as fuel. In her Instagram she revealed that she loads up on good fats, eats organic when she can, eats to increase gut bacteria, and avoids vegetable oil and refined sugar. While she doesn’t eat food until dinner, she usually cooks a feast for her family, “usually something like a beef stew made with organic beef and potatoes or a roast chicken with organic vegetables which I’ll make a batch of bone broth with,” she told Luminous. “I will sometimes make some chips for the kids using my Air Dryer, which is amazing and I really recommend it, with organic potatoes and using avocado oil. As a sweet treat, I’ll make acai bowls or we will have some chocolate made with stevia instead of sugar.”
“I hydrate with water from fruit and veg,” Davinia added in her Instagram post. “I load on nutritionally dense foods like bone broth and green juice.” She elaborated on some of her go-to drinks to Luminous. She starts the day with “half a pint of filtered water with added Maldon sea salt and a squeeze of lemon.” Then she will drink her version of Bulletproof coffee, espresso with MCT oil and added NICKS stevia in vanilla flavour, which she will also drink in the afternoon. Sometime mid-afternoon she will sip on some bone broth or a glass of celery juice.
“I move daily,” Davinia revealed in her Instagram post. Her workouts are no joke. “I will head to the gym for a 5k or 10k run or I’ll go to a Barry’s Bootcamp class,” she told Luminous. “A meta-analysis published online Nov. 4, 2019, by the British Journal of Sports Medicine looked at 14 studies involving more than 232,000 people, and found that running only once a week for less than 50 minutes has significant health benefits, such as a lower risk of cardiovascular disease, cancer, and death from all causes,” says Harvard Health.
