David Foster is giving an update on the Broadway musical he’s been working on for over 14 years!
The legendary songwriter is writing a Betty Boop musical and it’s aiming for a pre-Broadway run in 2023.
David went on Live! with Kelly & Ryan recently and shared a new update about timing for the first full production of the show.

“It’s coming, 2023, finally,” David said. “All of the pieces are in place and we hope to be in Chicago in the fall and then, God-willing, Broadway!”
The creative team for the Betty Boop musical includes Bob Martin as the book writer and Susan Birkenhead as the lyricist. David originally started working on the project in 2008 and now it’s finally coming to fruition.
David‘s wife Katharine McPhee gave the debut live performance of the song “Something to Shout About” from the musical. Listen to the recording below!
