Amanda Brugel is feeling empowered – in her workout gear. After an intense workout session the Dark Matter star shared an inspirational message to her followers. “We say to girls “You can have ambition, But not too much, You should aim to be successful, But not too successful, Otherwise you will threaten the man.” – @chimamanda_adichie,” she wrote in the caption. “According to Instagram, 91.2% of my followers identify as girls. So to my babes: keep getting your unapologetic, ambitious, successful, too much, threat ON.” How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? “High tea is always lovely and is sort of my jam,” Amanda told Hollywood Reporter. What will you find in her cup? I “My favorite is peppermint,” she said. Numerous studies have shown that a variety of teas may boost your immune system, fight off inflammation, and even ward off cancer and heart disease.

“Spas and facials are amazing, but I’m quite athletic, so when I really want to relax I like to throw axes. It’s so great because you can bring a group of friends. It’s much more physical than you anticipate, so it provides such a release when you get your body moving. Beware: It’s highly competitive, and if you get a chance to throw the big ax, it’s the best night of your life,” Amanda said about one of her favorite hobbies. 

Amanda’s alcoholic drink of choice? White wine. While red wine is slightly healthier than white, the lighter shade of vino generally has fewer calories than the darker shade. 

 

Amanda is a hiker. According to the National Parks Service, the physical benefits of hiking include:

  • Building stronger muscles and bones
  • Improving your sense of balance
  • Improving your heart health
  • Decreasing the risk of certain respiratory problems

Amanda’s main form of fitness is strength training. In her latest post she stands in front of a weight rack, showing off her strong arms. According to the Mayo Clinic, strength and weight training help reduce body fat, preserve and increase lean muscle mass, and burn calories more efficiently. Strength training may also help you:
