YouTube star CoryxKenshin has been AWOL from the internet for over a month, despite promising a more consistent upload schedule after a year and a half-long hiatus.
CoryxKenshin is one of the most popular gaming-focused content creators on YouTube. He’s garnered a fanbase of over 21 million subscribers since starting his channel in 2009 thanks to his family-friendly humor and hilarious reactions to horror games… but these same viewers are wondering where he’s been for the last 30 days.
Cory famously returned to the internet in December 2024, a year and a half after uploading his last video. It turns out that he was busy cooking up a new project, a sci-fi action-horror manga series titled ‘Monsters We Make.’
Volume 1 shipped out in February 2025, the same month that Cory uploaded his latest video playing through Poppy Playtime Chapter 4. It’s been over a month since then, leaving fans equal parts concerned and exasperated that he’s taken yet another unannounced absence.
Fans desperate for new CoryxKenshin content as YouTuber takes another hiatus
Comments underneath Cory’s Poppy Playtime video are a mixture of humor and outright despair, with one viewer writing: “What a nice little reunion. Same time next year? year and a half perhaps?”
“‘It was fun while it lasted!’ Ahh upload schedule,” another joked.
“Cory giving us flashbacks from last year with this break,” yet another lamented.
Many fans are careful to note that Cory doesn’t owe viewers any content whatsoever, and that he’s completely within his rights to step back as needed… but that hasn’t stopped them from being a tad frustrated with his sudden disappearances.
In fact, Cory promised viewers that he’d upload 100 videos in 2025, and even apologized to them for his extended break focusing on Monsters We Make.
“I got lost in the sauce a little bit,” he admitted. “…the Samurai community is always gonna come first before any outside projects I do, and because of the blessings you all have afford me through the grace of God, yeah, I could have done that better. I want to apologize about that.”

It’s also worth noting that Cory said that he’s also hard at work on another project, which he can’t speak much about just yet.
It’s highly possible that, given his past absence to focus on Monsters We Make, Cory could be locked in on his next big reveal… but that hasn’t stopped fans from asking for more transparency from their favorite YouTuber in the meantime.
Also, given the fact that Cory edits his own YouTube videos – which can take a gruelingly long time, as seen in his Poppy Playtime Chapter 4 upload – trying to maintain a consistent schedule alongside two other major endeavors could have the YouTuber juggling too many plates.
For now, viewers are not so patiently waiting on his next upload… and a possible update on the future of Monsters We Make after he directly called out Netflix to adapt his manga into an anime.
