Fernández is a professional pole vaulter. Naturally, this is how she stays in shape. Pole vaulting is a form of cardio, as you have to run in the sport. It also requires a lot of strength, as the pole is very heavy, and you have to launch yourself into the air. 

Being an athlete, Fernández has had to deal with highs and lows. In her most recent competitive season, she came up short. However, Fernández is not letting it get her down. She shared her thoughts in this Instagram post, writing, “At the gates of the finals. I dreamed of being in that final, I gave it my all, but it wasn’t enough. After a season full of injuries, I can only be grateful to have come this far and keep trying.”

Fernández shared her training secrets on her Instagram stories. She even has an Instagram story highlight called “Training.” One type of workout she likes to do is weight training. She is seen doing deadlifts and squats with a barbell on her story. 

Fernández shared some of her favorite workouts in this video. She makes sure that she works out her legs. In fact, she likes to do some unique leg workouts. In the video, she is seen hanging from a bar and swinging her legs with a large exercise ball between them. 

Whenever Fernández is about to train or about to go into a competition, she remembers to stretch. In her Instagram highlight, she is seen doing different stretches. One type of stretch she is seen doing is an oblique stretch with her knee under her arm. Stretching is important as a way to keep your body warm and prevent injuries.
