Cam Newton recently recalled visiting the Carolina Panthers facility with his son who pointed out the franchise erased his history.

On March 24, 2020, a bizarre situation unfolded when Carolina released their star quarterback, Cam Newton, who had been with the team since 2011. Making things even more peculiar was that the elite-level quarterback wasn’t traded soon after.

Cam was a free agent for 86 days before landing with the New England Patriots before returning to the Panthers in 2021. Unfortunately, that was short-lived, leading him to build his multimedia empire.

Now, Sports Illustrated reports that things may still be tense between Cam and the Panthers. On his show “4th & 1,” Cam explained why he didn’t attend the Panthers game in Germany when other Carolina legends were present.

Cam had no idea why he wasn’t invited but shared an interesting story about his most recent visit to the organization with his son.

“We went into the Panthers’ facility and you mean to tell me one of the greatest Panthers to ever play ain’t up [on the walls] nowhere? I’m talking nowhere.”

At first, you would presume Cam is exaggerating but he revealed it wasn’t even him who noticed he wasn’t posted anywhere in the building.

“Who brought it to my attention? My son,” Newton revealed. “So as a man, when you have to explain to your son, ‘Daddy, where’s your picture?’” he questioned.”At this particular point in time the question was, ‘Oh, we don’t know if Cam’s retired yet.’ Newsflash: I’m never going to retire. I know I played my last piece of football. It don’t matter to me to officially retire.”

“I didn’t even know certain opportunities even existed,” he continued. “So did it hurt my feelings? Yeah, it did. I’m like damn, bro. I gave this city everything.”

During the Germany game, former Panthers legends Luke Kuechly and Thomas Davis were selected as team ambassadors. For a special occasion such as playing across the pond, including your former superstar is a no-brainer especially since the Panthers have never won a Super Bowl and their last appearance was in 2015 thanks to Cam.

Regardless of your opinion of Cam Newton, you can see that this is totally unfair from the team that drafted him after college.
