Bruce’s daughters, Evelyn and Mabel, whom he shares with his wife, Emma, were full of Christmas spirit as they were seen in a video unpacking their gifts, placed under a beautifully decorated Christmas tree.

The short video posted by Emma on her Instagram page featured the two young girls coming down a flight of stairs to meet a sea of presents and full Christmas stockings. The cookies and milk they left overnight for Santa Claus could also be seen in the clip amongst their presents.

Evelyn and Mabel had permanent grins on their faces as they unwrapped their gifts. One of the kids even broke into a dance to show how happy she was on the joyous day. At the end of the heartwarming video was a close-up shot of the family’s Christmas card, which had the message, “Happy Holidays and ‘Live it up!’” written on it, along with snaps of the kids.

Emma captioned the video, “From our family to yours, we wish you a very Merry Christmas!!”

Earlier this year, in February, the Willis family revealed that the “Fifth Element” star’s illness had worsened as he was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia. This irreversible brain disorder affects speech and motor skills.

Since Bruce’s diagnosis, his family has been by his side, showing support and care for the actor. An insider close to the family told Us Weekly, “Bruce has good days and bad days, but in the last two months, there are many more bad days than good.”

The source added that the experience has brought the family closer, stating, “This experience has brought the whole family even closer together. No one knows how much time Bruce has left, so they’re soaking up every moment they get with him.”

Another insider claimed that the family has created a shared living arrangement and is “all there all the time.”

“Once Bruce was diagnosed, everyone came together to keep his memory of the family intact and to be there as a constant reminder [that they] love him. [Everything] revolves around him,” the source disclosed. They added, “Bruce has around-the-clock care, but at least one family member is always with him.”

Emma opened up about Bruce’s condition in an op-ed for Maria Shriver’s Sunday Paper on November 11. The 45-year-old model recounted how terrified she was to make the initial announcement about his illness. However, she felt like she could finally “breathe” when his diagnosis was revealed to the public.

“Bruce’s FTD diagnosis was devastating, but it explained so much of what we’d been going through.” Emma said, “His diagnosis enabled us to put things that once felt so confusing into a medical context.”

She found more ways to help Bruce through the illness by reading “specific information” on the topic. Emma was also encouraged by people who were in her shoes.

“With a specific diagnosis, you have a chance to find a community. You get to connect with people who understand your story immediately. You don’t even have to explain yourself,” she said.

Emma also noted in her op-ed her desire to spread awareness about FTD and its difference from Alzheimer’s. She said, “The world needs to know that not all dementia is Alzheimer’s and that not all dementia impacts memory. A disease like FTD presents instead with changes to behavior, personality, language, or movement.”

She noted that she has become stronger knowing that a lot of others endure the same things as her family regularly.
