Pop star Britney Spears left fans concerned on Saturday night when she told her millions of Instagram followers that something happened to her eight months ago.
Saturday marked the pop star’s 42nd birthday. Unfortunately, it got off to a rough start when her new puppy, Snow, had to be taken to a 24-hour vet clinic due to a medical emergency. Britney assured her followers that Snow was fine, but not before clarifying remarks that she made in a previously deleted Instagram post.
Britney Spears Says Her Dog Snow Is Fine, But Fans Are Worried That She Is Not
In a since-deleted Instagram post shared earlier in the week, the 42-year-old pop star talked about how difficult it was for her to keep certain personal events private. Many of the events were published in her memoir, “The Woman In Me,” which was released in late October. However, she went on to reveal that not all stories made the pages of her tell-all book.
“I started writing my book two years ago and in those moments in my personal life, I kept to myself !!! Not only was my personal life kept secret, but it felt equivalent to 20 years of hard times that I wrote about in my book !!! Can you imagine a 2007 that lasted for three years that nobody even knows about ???” she asked. “It’s over now and I’m incredibly sad about those times !!!”
“It’s weird cause although I do Instagram, I don’t follow social media, the news, and the fan chatter !!! I’ve been doing that this week and it’s weird cause it feels like a lot of fans already kind of know me and the way they speak is incredibly kind,” she continued. “They always [had] a suspicion that something’s going on !!!! Well, guess what Britney nerds … you were 100 percent right !!! I don’t have time to speak about any of it cause at this particular moment it’s beyond comprehension !!!”
Britney then addressed a clip from the Disney movie “Beauty and the Beast,” writing, “Here’s a clip of my favorite movie !!!! Looks are deceiving !!! I’ve been turned down by so many and incredibly hurt by many. In a world where looks have always been important … where vanity lies … it’s the secret to steal a man’s heart !!!! The seductress poison is an allusion !! It’s always been !!! But in the wickedness of that illusion is where we play !!! May I play now ??? I found my poison daddy !!!”
Many fans were unsure what exactly Britney meant when she said that “something’s going on” and were concerned that she might not be as free as she seemed to be, even though her controversial 13-year conservatorship was struck down by a judge in November 2021. On Saturday night, when she should have been celebrating her birthday, Britney took to Instagram to set the record straight.
Britney Shares Cryptic Message: ‘Something WAS Going On’
On Saturday night, the “Toxic” singer gave her followers a cryptic message. First, she told them that something was going on, but added that it had nothing to do with her. However, she then went on to say that something “was being done to” her eight months ago that “was not okay or acceptable at all” prompting fans to be even more concerned.
“When I said something WAS going on … it had nothing to do with me !! OK! Magazine said I wasn’t well … I’ve been the strongest I’ve ever been in my life for the past 8 months … Before that …something was being done to me that was not okay or acceptable at all !! I want to be CLEAR and TO CLARIFY … HUUUGE difference !!!” she wrote in the caption.
She then addressed the medical emergency that her dog experienced hours before, writing, “Also don’t worry about Snow she’s fine … I went to the emergency vet in the middle of the night with Cade’s shoes and clothes in a hurry …I literally look like the girl in All Dogs Go To Heaven dressed up like a man being told to place bets !!!”
She was celebrating her birthday at the house of her longtime manager and friend, Cade Hudson. Her older brother, Bryan Spears, and her mother, Lynne Spears, were also in attendance at the birthday bash.
